Maple Leaf Night at the National Hardware Show, Las Vegas

For nearly 75 years, the National Hardware Show has served the hardware and home improvement industry. Based in Las Vegas, the 3-day show is the prime time and place for face-to-face sourcing, trading and learning with over 20,000+ industry professionals, 120+ media outlets and 15+ different product categories. This year’s event was held May 7th -10th and featured 2,800+ exhibitors (500+ new exhibitors!) along with 110+ inventors covering 15+ product categories including everything from homewares to international sourcing to cyber-security and more.

Lock Search Group was there, along with many of our Canadian hardware industry clients. We make the investment and the trip every year to keep informed on industry trends, and to interact with business leaders in a relaxed and social environment.

The Canadian presence is an important part of the show, so much so that the organizers have decided to hold a Maple Leaf Night. This year Lock Search Group was proud to be co-sponsor of that evening’s events, which centred around a cocktail party held at the Mirage Hotel. Also, co-sponsoring was the Canadian Hardware and Housewares Manufacturers Association (CMMHA), with whom we work closely on industry recruiting needs.

Maple Leaf Night was deemed to be a great success by all who attended. The hot topic among industry colleagues and retailers? – the ongoing change and innovation in products and services. Just a few examples from the show: smart home automation, virtual reality in retail environments, eco-friendly products, and the Inventors’ Spotlight Awards.

Back home in Canada, we are continually motivated by the growing demand for talent to join the Hardware and Housewares industry. We plan to be at the forefront, serving both clients and candidates from a knowledge base that is second to none.
