  • Calling all CPG Sales Directors! Our client is a hyper growth player in their category that has been exploding with a focus on health and wellness among consumers. They are looking to add a key member to their team focused on developing the business in Canada and the US. Reporting to the CEO you will be responsible for the expansion and development of the Sales division for the company. This role will be a valued member of the entrepreneurial leadership team and responsible for building the business among key retailers and distributors in the CPG food space.  
    Responsibilities
    ·Develop and execute an overall sales strategy, forecasts, and budget, and set concrete targets and plans to achieve sustainable growth for Retail channels 
    ·Collaborate with other members of the leadership team to align on approach and execution
    ·Proactively assess, clarify, and validate customer needs on an ongoing basis staying on top of consumer trends and channel opportunities 
    • Effectively communicate new portfolio opportunities to the CEO and Board 
    • Create, establish, and maintain high level banner relationships with customers, brokers, and partners 
    • Collaborate with Marketing to leverage expertise around future business building initiatives related to in-store activations, key insights, and innovation pipelines
    • Control costs with a focus on profitability, negotiating pricing & promotions effectively
    • Develop and streamline an effective contract management process
    • Develop and monitor key performance indicators (KPI’s) to track and measure all stages of the sales funnel
    • Travel as required to deliver and facilitate presentations with prospective customers and partners, and represent the business at key trade shows in respective markets 
    Qualifications:
    • 10 + years senior Sales experience with CPG Manufacturing companies, preferably with start up company success 
    • Undergraduate degree.  Preferred MBA or Business focus 
    • Proven track record of over-achieving on sales targets in a fast-paced environment and exceeding organizational goals
    • National Banner experience in Grocery, Mass, Specialty, and Convenience
    • Broker Management experience in Canada and US
    • Strong, current relationships with potential client companies
    • Demonstrated highly developed written (business and creative) and verbal communication skills, tact, assertiveness, and business acumen
    • Hands on team player and motivational leader with the ability to work collaboratively and cross functionally to achieve optimal results
    • Advanced leadership skills with ability to direct, coach, develop, facilitate and manage performance of direct reports 
    • Exceptional organizational skills with strong detail orientation, strong multitasking, and prioritization abilities
    • Entrepreneurial spirit coupled with the intellectual curiosity 
    • Excellent presentation and selling skills across multiple audiences of management and national CPG accounts
