Our client is a collective buying group supporting independent Canadian distributors, specializing in cleaning, hygiene, industrial, and foodservice packaging products. They are committed to fostering a strong economic environment for entrepreneurs.
They are currently seeking a Junior Category Manager to work closely with the Director of Category Management. This role supports daily business operations and coordinates strategic programs focused on growth and continuous improvement.
Main Areas of Responsibility:
Technology
- Manage current and new reporting systems and dashboards to improve vendor program efficiency
- Analyze data and provide recommendations to drive financial gains through category development
Vendor Management
- Assist in negotiating vendor programs across Wholesale, Food Packaging, and Cleaning & Hygiene channels
- Update and modernize vendor profile databases and program components
- Deliver program and category analysis to maintain consistent vendor offerings
- Conduct regular meetings and quarterly business reviews with vendors
Controls
- Maintain effective internal controls for quarterly distributions
- Provide budget recommendations and report vendor results to leadership
Qualifications
- Post-secondary education in Business, Commerce, Economics, or a related field
- 1–3 years of experience in category management, procurement, business analysis, or vendor relations
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and data visualization tools
- Experience in the distribution, wholesale, or packaging industries is considered an asset
