    Our client, a disruptor in the plant-based food space, is building a powerhouse leadership team, and we are seeking a highly skilled and entrepreneurial Sales leader to join the organization.  Reporting to the COO you will be responsible for the international expansion and development of the Sales division for the company. This role will be a valued member of the entrepreneurial leadership team and responsible for shaping the sales team for hyper growth.  

    Responsibilities
    • Develop and execute an overall sales strategy, forecasts and budget, and set concrete targets and plans to achieve sustainable growth for Retail, Food Service, and Industrial channels 
    • Collaborate with other members of the leadership team to align on approach and execution
    • Proactively assess, clarify, and validate customer needs on an ongoing basis staying on top of consumer trends and channel opportunities 
    • Grow the business with a trend and insights-led approach, closing major sales contract opportunities which result in a well-developed, sustainable pipeline of customers within North America, APAC, and Europe
    • Effectively communicate new portfolio opportunities to the COO, President and leadership team 
    • Create, establish, and maintain high level banner relationships with customers, brokers, and partners 
    • Collaborate with Marketing and category management to leverage expertise around future business building initiatives related to in-store activations, key insights, and innovation pipelines
    • Control costs with a focus on profitability, negotiating pricing & promotions effectively
    • Develop and streamline an effective contract management process
    • Develop and monitor key performance indicators (KPI’s) to track and measure all stages of the sales funnel
    • Travel as required to deliver and facilitate presentations with prospective customers and partners, and represent the business at key trade shows in respective markets 
    • Build, lead and manage a future sales team with clear guidance, objectives and feedback while further developing key account structure and setting strategy and direction for the Sales function 
    Qualifications:
    • 10 + years senior Sales experience with CPG Manufacturing companies, preferably with start up company success 
    • Undergraduate degree.  Preferred MBA or Business focus 
    • Proven track record of over-achieving on sales targets in a fast-paced environment and exceeding organizational goals
    • ERP & CRM experience with high proficiency
    • Global National Banner experience in Grocery, Mass, Specialty, and Convenience
    • Background in Food Service distribution and customer relationship management.  Industrial experience considered an asset 
    • Broker Management experience in Canada and US
    • High level of proficiency in MS Excel and CRM systems 
    • Strong, current relationships with potential client companies
    • Demonstrated highly developed written (business and creative) and verbal communication skills, tact, assertiveness, and business acumen
    • Hands on team player and motivational leader with the ability to work collaboratively and cross functionally to achieve optimal results
    • Advanced leadership skills with ability to direct, coach, develop, facilitate and manage performance of direct reports 
    • Exceptional organizational skills with strong detail orientation, strong multitasking, and prioritization abilities
    • Entrepreneurial spirit coupled with the intellectual curiosity 
    • Excellent presentation and selling skills across multiple audiences of management and national CPG accounts
    • Flexibility to travel domestically and internationally
