    Our client is a fast-growing sports action company that manufactures a premium boutique product in the cycling industry.  As the business continues to grow, we are looking for an experienced finance professional to take the role of Corporate Controller. Reporting to the CEO and Founder of the organization, you will be responsible for all finance functions of the business managing a small team.  As part of the leadership team, you will be expected to support the overall growth of the business and cultivate a winning culture.  

    Key Responsibilities:
    • Manage, monitor and streamline accounting operations, including A/R, A/P, accounting and financial reporting.
    • Manage all aspects of the financial audits.
    • Coordinate an effective, efficient and timely month-end close process, including ownership of the general ledger, preparation of variance analysis and other relevant reporting insights.
    • Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements including preparation of supporting schedules, drafting notes, MD&A and other narratives as required.
    • Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual accounting working papers and supporting schedules.
    • Enhance formal processes for internal controls.
    • Support cross-functional initiatives by assisting in the design and implementation of related financial processes.
    • Review and approve employee expenses in accordance with companies’ policy.
    Capabilities + Experience Required:
    • CPA Designation.
    • 5+ years of progressive accounting experience. 
    • Experience as a people manager.
    • Experience within the Consumer-Packaged Goods or sporting goods industries is a considerable asset.
    • Rockstar work ethic and attitude in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
    • Exceptional organization and communication skills.
    • Attention to detail and commitment to follow-up.
    Cultural fit is critical as we are seeking an agile individual with corporate experience, preferably in manufacturing or consumer goods mixed with an entrepreneurial background.  Being able to clearly communicate and influence strategy working as the right-hand person to the owner is critical.  A passion for the outdoor consumer products industry is not a requirement but highly attractive.  Role offers a competitive compensation and hybrid working model out of their Vancouver BC based office.
