  • Job Title: Head of Human Resources, Canada
    Our client, a leading global Pharmaceutical company, is seeking a dynamic HR professional who can lead and support the development and execution of strategies that enable the Country Leadership Team to plan, evaluate, develop and improve their human resources to optimize their contribution to the company's strategic and operational performance. 

    Key Responsibilities 
    • Define and ensure that the priority objectives set by the Country are executed upon in a timely manner
    • Be the HR partner to shape Leadership Team thinking and direction of the HR Function
    • Active role in ensuring Leadership Team effectiveness. Support individual development and elevate the team’s performance
    • Lead all change management initiatives with consistent principles 
    • Develop strategic L&D vision for the country in partnership with the L&D function, creating learning programs within the country to foster a culture of continuous learning
    • Drive organization effectiveness, proactively set an OE agenda that spans mindset, prioritization, process, workforce planning, role and org design, capabilities and measurement/KPIs
    • Oversee cyclical processes such as succession/talent planning, performance management and compensation 
    • Ensure talent acquisition and total rewards practices are competitive, equitable and aligned with the country needs
    • Mitigate risk for company, ensure objectivity, consistency, sound judgment and compliance
    • Deliver high quality people insights. Course-correct as required and inspire step change solutions for the Business/Country/Functions
    • Guide the region on uniqueness of Canadian legislative requirements with litigation activities
    • Build a best-in-class HR Team by creating an environment which inspires people to do their best and is aligned to the Company’s values and Leadership Behaviours 
    • Lead and participate in Global/Regional HR projects as required.  Apply knowledge of how the HR Function works and contemporary external best practices to co-create enterprise solutions that deliver results
    • Bachelor’s degree required
    • 15+ years’ HR experience; in lieu of HR experience, equivalent experience in a senior leadership position with broad management responsibilities will be considered
    • Minimum seven (7) years’ management of direct and indirect teams required
    • Experience working in the pharmaceutical industry and/or supporting a complex global organization undergoing transformation preferred
    • Self-motivated; self-starter
    • Very comfortable interfacing with all levels of the organization
    • Industry and HR Knowledge: understands the pharmaceutical, diagnostics, and healthcare industry and corporate functions
