    Our client is a manufacturer based in the Lower Mainland, and strategic leader within their sector, who is keen to continually grow its market share globally.  Given their goal, and focus on global market share advancement, they are motivated to add an International Business Development Manager to their team.  The Business Development Manager is responsible for leading the growth of our clients’ exclusive services and equipment products to clients throughout the world, including Europe, Asia, and Africa.  Though this position will be leading a managing a team, this is a strategic sales position that is for that ‘true hunter’…


    The successful Business Development Manager will be a dynamic and highly motivated consultative sales professional who has compelling drive, is technical and possess a track record of growing sales in their previous sales/business development positions.  This role is a unique position where much of your year can be spent exploring different cultures, countries, and markets…while performing and driving results. 

    **The successful candidate must reside and be physically based out of the Greater Vancouver/Lower Mainland/Fraser Valley Region within British Columbia**


    • Target, approach and sell equipment internationally by utilizing a solution-oriented sales process 
    • Remain current on industry trends, product application and other market activities
    • Attending international events and tradeshows - up to 6 trade per year
    • Comfortable to be traveling 20-30 weeks per calendar year
    • Develop proposals, supporting agents, and leading the inside sales team 
    • Updating information from leads & customers within the company’s CRM
    • Visit with existing and prospective clients (Europe, Asia, Africa) to support direct sales and business development
    • Collaborate with other internal departments (Sales, Marketing & Engineering) as to best articulate company mandates, policies, and products 
    • Coordinate with Marketing to manage company public relations via social media 
    • Create opportunities for product trials of new product with customers and obtain ‘field tested’ industry feedback 
    • Ensure partners receive the required levels of training by identifying future skills necessary to carry out assigned responsibilities
    • Work closely with partners to train, educate and build mutually beneficial relationships with key stakeholders at all levels



    • Post Secondary Degree preferably in Business, Marketing or Commerce 
    • 5+ years in hunter sales positions – selling outside of Canada preferably 
    • Previous technical selling experience is highly preferred – must have previous sales experience with solution selling
      • Understands and can present a ‘total cost of ownership’ model to clients to differentiate product value
    • Excellent negotiation and presentation skills 
    • Exceptional hands-on knowledge of MS office
    • Experience working in a manufacturing and sales export company is a preferred skill
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
    • Ability to build and foster impactful relationships with key customers  
    • Ability to travel regularly much of the year will be spent on the road
    • Canadian citizen with valid Canadian passport, able to travel without restrictions  up to 60-70% a year
    • Valid Class 5 BC driver’s license
