National Account Manager

  • JOB TITLE:             NATIONAL ACCOUNTS MANAGER
     
    REPORTS TO:        DIRECTOR OF SALES
     
    MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
     
    1. Oversee and manage all sales aspects for assigned accounts.
    2. Develop sales opportunities to grow the business.
     
    DUTIES:
     
    • Manage assigned national accounts.
    • Develop and maintain Account Plans.
    • Achieve assigned sales budgets. (Monthly/Annually)
    • Direct responsibility for the achievement of account sales objectives which require continuous analysis, tracking and communication of results
    • Develop and present creative and compelling sales proposals to positively influence key decision makers at assigned accounts.
    • Control all sales related expenditures, including Trade Spending
    • Develop and implement new sales strategies, while looking for ways to generate new sources of sales volume,
    • Demonstrated success in analyzing & interpreting POS data by sku to closely monitor trends and anomalies.
    • Establish 12-month rolling forecasts on a monthly basis by analysis historical data and projected future trends with accuracy. Notify internal stakeholders of all material changes with sufficient lead time to react.
    • Creation, presentation, and execution of business proposal and annual account plan for core programs as well as promotional/seasonal programs to national accounts
    • Secure and manage the execution of all marketing and merchandising initiatives, i.e., end caps, pallet programs and planograms.
    • Measure & analyze account performance on a monthly basis for achievement of monthly account budget.
    • Create and present annual budget, quarterly business reviews, as well as annual business reviews by account to senior management.
    • Assist Field Sales as it pertains to assigned national accounts.
    • Secure listings of new products with assigned accounts.
    • As a key player on the Sales Team, continually contribute value-added ideas for the continual improvement of the team’s selling capability.
    • Attend Tradeshows and Trade functions as needed.
     
     EDUCATION, SKILLS and EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
     
    • 5+ years of sales and/or marketing experience
    • Effective communication and negotiation skills
    • Strong interpersonal skills
    • Understanding of planning, budgeting and costing
    • University or college degree
    • Strong computer skills – Excel, Word, PowerPoint
