• Operations Manager - Logistics

    Houston, TX

    Our Client is a leading Industrial supply company that has offices across North America. Lock Search Group is excited to partner with them to find an outstanding individual to assume the position of their new Operations Manager to be based in Houston, TX.  This role will oversee the full cycle of logistics for their operation.  Working Remotely can be an option but would prefer a candidate who is comfortable working in an office setting. Our client is proud of the phenomenal culture they have developed and are excited to see this continue to grow with the addition of a new senior member to their organization.  



    • Use industry contacts, peers, and other professional networks to identify business opportunities and develop long term business relationships and liaise with the sales team to do so.
    • Present business opportunities and cases to the sales team members ensuring a focus on innovation and client focus.
    • Work closely with management, sales, and client representatives to ensure a smooth delivery of services and ensure client satisfaction.
    • Ensure incidents are addressed appropriately and corrective actions are in place with interaction and direct support from the Safety department.
    • Assist the contracts and estimating teams with the responses to RFP’s by participating in the completion of the project bid.
    • Review and refine processes to continuously improve safety, cost control, operations, and carrier onboarding.
    • Lead the SOP process, engaging all parties involved, to review Forecast vs action plans to successfully meet objectives
    • Continuously updating this plan based on actual sales results and market conditions

    Qualification Requirements: 

    • 5 to 10 years of experience within a Supply Chain, or Customer Service environment with progressive management responsibility. 
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
    • Organization, task management, and leadership skills are crucial to success
    • Must possess a comprehensive understanding of logistics cost structures and capabilities within both the transport and warehousing environments and typical timeframes for execution
    • Knowledge of state-of-the-art supply chain business processes and systems 
    • Must be proficient in various software programs and ERP, including SAP, Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint
    • Strong oral and written communication skills with all levels of management, end-users, and peers
    • Must have the ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment
    • Business Acumen – Ability to consider and quantify the impact of potential risks/opportunities and take quick and decisive action
