Job Title: Purchasing Manager
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the procurement efforts for the company, working closely with the supply chain and production teams
- Manage the entire purchasing process, including sourcing, negotiating with suppliers, and ensuring timely delivery of inventory
- Lead a small team of one direct report
- Analyze supplier performance, making recommendations for continuous improvement
- Drive cost savings projects to offset inflationary increases and support the budget
- Develop and implement purchasing policies, procedures, and processes to ensure regulatory compliance
- Manage day-to-day purchasing activities
- Build and maintain positive relationships with suppliers
- Communicate effectively with internal stakeholders and suppliers
- Prioritize and manage multiple projects and tasks in a fast-paced environment
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in purchasing
- Proven experience leading a team, conducting RFQ’s, and managing supplier relationships
- Strong understanding of purchasing principles and practices
- Experience in purchasing within the food industry preferred
- Competent with Microsoft Office Suite
- Experience working with an ERP
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Proactive and results-driven, with a strong focus on continuous improvement
