Purchasing Manager

  • Job Title:  Purchasing Manager 
     
    Key Responsibilities
    • Lead the procurement efforts for the company, working closely with the supply chain and production teams 
    • Manage the entire purchasing process, including sourcing, negotiating with suppliers, and ensuring timely delivery of inventory 
    • Lead a small team of one direct report 
    • Analyze supplier performance, making recommendations for continuous improvement 
    • Drive cost savings projects to offset inflationary increases and support the budget 
    • Develop and implement purchasing policies, procedures, and processes to ensure regulatory compliance 
    • Manage day-to-day purchasing activities 
    • Build and maintain positive relationships with suppliers 
    • Communicate effectively with internal stakeholders and suppliers 
    • Prioritize and manage multiple projects and tasks in a fast-paced environment 
     
    Qualifications 
    • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field 
    • Minimum of 5 years of experience in purchasing 
    • Proven experience leading a team, conducting RFQ’s, and managing supplier relationships 
    • Strong understanding of purchasing principles and practices 
    • Experience in purchasing within the food industry preferred
    • Competent with Microsoft Office Suite 
    • Experience working with an ERP 
    • Excellent organizational and time management skills 
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills 
    • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment 
    • Proactive and results-driven, with a strong focus on continuous improvement
