Senior Finance Manager

    This position is perfect if you are an agile, career focused finance professional looking to put your personal growth plan into the fast lane.  Reporting to the CEO, you will take over leadership of the Finance team with a focus on building the business and getting company affairs in order.  Taking a seat at the leadership table you will be tasked with building a finance team over the long term as the business expands in North America.  
     
    RESPONSIBLITIES 

    • Establish internal controls and guidelines for accounting transactions and budget preparation
    • Oversees preparation of business activity reports, financial forecasts, end of month reporting and balancing, and annual budgets
    • Oversee the production of periodic financial reports
    • Ensures that the reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles financial reporting standards
    • Tax planning throughout the fiscal year; files quarterly and annual corporate tax returns
    • Audits accounts to ensure compliance with provincial and federal regulations
    • Coordinate and complete annual audits
    • Presents recommendations to management on short and long-term financial objectives and policies
    • Provides financial analysis with an emphasis on capital investments, pricing decisions, and contract negotiations
    • Ensures compliance with local, provincial, and federal government requirements
    • Performs other related duties as necessary or assigned
    • Improve systems and procedures and initiate corrective actions
    • Meet financial accounting objectives
    • Establish and maintain fiscal files and records to document transactions
     
    REQUIREMENTS 
     
    • 3-5 years working experience as Accounting Manager, Accounting Supervisor or Finance Manager. CPA or designation preferred 
    • Proven knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting principles, practices, standards, laws and regulations in Canada and USA
    • Excellent management and supervisory skills
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
    • Proficient in accounting and tax preparation software
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software
    • Ability to manipulate large amounts of data
    • High attention to detail and accuracy
