Senior Manager, Sustainability and Impact Strategy

    How would you like to work for the #1 quick service restaurant in the world? Our client currently has an opening on their Canada Impact Team for a Senior Manager, Sustainability and Impact Strategy. This position will report to the Government, Public Affairs and Sustainability lead. 

    This role will support the development, and ensure the successful implementation, of a system-wide Sustainability & Impact Strategy. Additionally, the chosen candidate will work as an integral driver and coordinator of the Purpose Steering Committee to help grow brand trust and realise its commitment to achieve net zero emissions across its global operations by 2050.

    Responsibilities 

    Strategy and Analysis 
    •Work as an integrated member of the Canada Impact Team to support the overall sustainability and impact strategy development, governance and long-term road map. 
    •Collaborate with internal stakeholders to embed and lead a purpose driven culture and programming, communications, and policies, via cross functional teams and steering committees. 
    •Support with research, stakeholder engagement, and analysis as part of strategy development, performance tracking and opportunity analysis. 
    •Coordinate with global Impact teams and other key global markets to help align strategies and support the corporate long-term direction. 

    Internal and External Engagement 
    •Engage, partner, and develop relationships with corporate leadership, suppliers and supply chain team, Owner Operators, regional leadership (field and operations), and external stakeholders to socialize, build support, and expand sustainability and impact strategies. 
    •Partner with the external engagement, strategic & leadership communications teams to ensure our action-focused sustainability and impact strategy drives brand trust with guest, media and stakeholders. 
    •Effectively represent the business externally when required. 

    Position Requirements: 
    Required Technical Skills 
    •Proven leadership in strategy development. 
    •Proven ability to develop and track metrics and report on progress. 
    •A deep understanding of the issues of business. 
    •Entrepreneurial and self-starter skills. 
    •Experience in working with organizations and advocating on differing policies. 
    •Outstanding and concise written and verbal communication skills required. 
    •Outstanding relationship building and presentation skills to internal, external and senior management audiences. 
    •Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver commitments on time and budget. 
    •Ability to think laterally and leverage previous experience and solutions that can be applied to new projects. 
    •Proven ability to apply a consumer mindset to strategy development.

    Minimum Requirements 
    •Professional with 7+ years of progressive and relevant experience. 
    •Experience with leading or delivering complex corporate strategy initiatives. 
    •Sound business judgment and strong analytical problem-solving skills. 
    •Strong change management skills and ability to adapt both quickly and resourcefully to shifting priorities. 
    •Undergraduate or Master’s degree in related field. 
    •French considered an asset.
