    Our client is a leading Canadian beverage and food manufacturer in their sector, with multiple plants strategically positioned in the Okanagan Valley. They have called on Cameron Lappin with Lock Search Group to help exclusively source for a Senior R&D Technologist. We are excited to be supporting a world-class food manufacturer and innovator on their recent need to add a key member of their food science team. 

     


    Reporting to Food Production leadership the Senior R&D Technologist main goal will be to develop new food and beverage products and the application of new process technologies within the current structure.  Not only is this role with an industry leader but they are offering an opportunity to work Highly sought-after area, the Okanagan valley.  Financial relocation support will be provided to ensure those interested in this opportunity, who are also interested to residing in the Okanagan, will be supported.  

     

    Responsibilities 

    • Identifying and sourcing innovative products from suppliers
    • Ongoing modification and improvement of existing recipes
    • Develop in-process and finished product specification
    • Generating ingredient statements and nutritional information
    • Provide written and verbal reports of research and report to the Senior Food Scientist 
    • Conduct production test runs
    • Develop in-process and finished product specification
    • Generating ingredient statements and nutritional information


    As the successful candidate, you will have:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Food Technology, Microbiology or relevant industry
    • 5 years experience in a food science or food manufacturing environment 
    • Knowledge of Canadian, US and International food safety regulations including: CFIA, FDA, Organic, Kosher and other industry regulations
    • Aptitude for solving technical challenges through systematic research and investigation
    • Comprehensive working knowledge of food ingredient functionality, food production principles and processes.  
    • Ability to multitask and prioritize, and work independently 
    • Strong written and communication skills
    • Good organizational and analytical abilities
