• Supply Chain Manager – Food Production

    Our client is an innovative leader within the Food Production sector. The Greater Vancouver based organization has experienced tremendous growth and looking to add a new Supply chain Professional to their team. Cameron Lappin of Lock Search Group has been brought on to assist them in recruiting an exceptional individual to lead their organization as a Supply Chain Manager. This position is essential for upholding the quality of food products, ensuring food safety, and adhering to regulatory standards.

    Reporting to the Director of Operations the incoming Supply Chain Manager will manage strategic relationships with key suppliers, and work closely and collaboratively with other internal stakeholders and departments in a cross functional multi-plant environment. The Supply Chain Manager oversees warehouse and inventory personnel, ensuring efficient and precise logistics operations, maintaining inventory and quality standards, and adhering to health and safety regulations.

    Responsibilities:

    • Creates forecasts for suppliers along with internal Purchasers to secure timely inventory
    • Develop strong negotiation culture within the purchasing team
    • Ensures Governmental regulatory standards are upheld internally
    • Assess, monitor, and mitigate risks by reviewing financial statements and evaluate overall supplier strength; identify new opportunities to minimize risk
    • Ensure training, and procedures are effectively created, communicated and implemented within the plant and to all employees
    • Optimization of overall production process, producing quality standards in accordance with project specification and contract schedule
    • Support ‘Production’ leaders in resolution of issues related to safety, quality, production priorities, material and man-hour allocations to meet designated targets and KPI’s
    • Guarantee sufficient product stock to fulfill distribution channels and customer needs
    • Maintain precise documentation of daily deliveries and shipments to reconcile inventory
    • Utilize software for monitoring demand and recording inventory attributes
    • Oversee inventory to achieve turnover, volume, and value targets while preventing stock shortages
    • Analyze data to forecast future inventory requirements
    • Coordinate warehouse transfers and conduct physical cycle counts
    • Assess suppliers to secure cost-effective agreements and sustain reliable partnerships
    • Work closely with warehouse personnel and other team members to achieve business objectives.

    Qualifications:

    • Diploma/Degree in related field, such as Supply Chain, Business, or International Trade, is considered essential
    • Preference give to someone that has a Supply Chain Designation (P. Log. CITT or APICS)
    • Previously worked in an environment in Food Production that dealt with multiple ingredients
    • Must have 5 years of Production Planning or Purchasing Experience (preferably a background in Food Production)
    • MRP/ERP system experience Preferably SAP and has experience in implementation.
    • Have to be comfortable utilizing Excel to support the ERP 
    • Industry related experience is an asset, as is experience dealing with CFIA regulations
    • General knowledge of WorkSafe BC and Occupational Health and Safety Regulations 
    • Continuous improvement and learning orientation
    • Comfortable managing a team and experience in People Management
    • A team player and leader who works well in a fast-paced environment
    • Excellent written, verbal skills, with impeccable attention to detail
