Lock Search Group has partnered with a market leader in the rail industry seeking an experienced Train Control Management Systems (TCMS) Technology Expert. This is an opportunity to significantly transform rail maintenance as it exists today, for a large fleet of bi-level coaches and locomotives.
As the TCMS Technology Expert, you will be responsible for overseeing maintenance facilities throughout Southern ON. Your role will involve bringing IoT (Internet of Things) solutions to the table, collaborating with stakeholders, and implementing cutting-edge software programs to ensure smooth rail maintenance operations and to drive continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure compliance with all Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) policies, processes, and procedures.
- Conduct research on internal and external best practices, monitoring emerging technology trends in rail maintenance.
- Design and compile documents related to best-in-class programs and practices.
- Identify technologies and platforms to achieve and implement world-class maintenance programs.
- Lead and deliver training programs on technology solutions.
- Lead and manage change management initiatives to support the implementation of technology solutions.
- Identify and solve issues using technical solutions.
- Collaborate in project management and development of technology projects.
- Support planning and design activities from concept to entry into service for new projects.
- Identify technological tools to optimize and support front-line maintenance.
- Develop key performance indicators (KPIs) and present data.
- Report potential complications to senior management.
- Prepare recurrent reports requested by operations or higher management.
- Manage and lead cross-functional projects and initiatives.
- Adhere to the company's policies, procedures, and human resources guidelines.
Requirements:
- Engineering degree with a focus on Project Engineering or related field.
- Ability to build strong relationships with teams and unionized maintenance personnel.
- 5-7 years of experience working with new technologies and introducing them to the rail industry.
- Solid understanding of project management and problem-solving methodologies.
- Track record of successfully implementing business strategies.
- Experience working in a unionized environment (preferred).
- Previous experience in the passenger/rail transit industry (an asset).
- Understanding of the impact of maintenance operations on customer experience.
