    Health and Safety Manager
    Our client is a leading testing laboratory offering a comprehensive scope of testing services in analytical chemistry, toxicology and method development. They have asked Paul Cannon of Lock Search Group to assist them in their search for a Health and Safety Manager to join their team in the Kitchener, ON area.

    Key Responsibilities:
    • Creation and revision of Health and Safety Policies, Procedures and Forms
    • Agenda and Minutes of the Safety/Management Meetings
    • Investigation Reports for Accidents/Incidents
    • Maintain all documentation for WSIB claim and Safe and Early Return to Work Program
    • Maintaining and revising all documents relating to the Biosafety/Biosecurity Manual and Licence
    • Preparing and submitting yearly Health and Safety Budget
    • Preparing Monthly, Quarterly and Yearly Safety Review Reports.
    • Participation and training on all Safety teams (Fire, Spill, Emergency Liaison, First Aid)
    • Chemical Safety and Compliance- inventories for all labs and inventory rooms
    • Material Handling Program OH&S 
    • Primary for Respirator FIT Testing
    • Safety Supplies – maintaining stock, ordering, research for needed or newer items
    • Air Monitoring- proposal for specific air monitoring from outside agency, communication of results with Management, JHSC, workers
    • Initiation of Incident and Hazard Reports into database and assigning JHSC investigators
    • Schedule and Conduct Emergency Drills 
    • Supervision of the Health and Safety Department including the Occupational Health and Safety Coordinator, Health and Safety Assistant and the Joint Health and Safety Committee
    Qualifications: 
    • College, technical institute diploma or University Degree required
    • Occupational Health and Safety Certificate
    • Standard First Aid Training
    • Familiar with the creation, administration and maintenance of Health and Safety Programs within a laboratory environment
    • Excellent communication skills 
    • Detail-oriented 
    • Must be able to work cooperatively in a team environment
