    The Human Resources & Payroll Specialist is responsible for coordinating HR initiatives for their site, processing bi-weekly payroll, coordinating recruitment activities, training and development, and diversity programs. They will ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and corporate policies.


    Key Responsibilities:
    • Implement HR projects and goals for their assigned site
    • Process bi-weekly payroll and associated tasks for Ontario and Quebec (70 employees)
    • Process new hire, employee change, termination, and other employee actions in the HRIS 
    • Administer employee benefit plans, including enrollments, changes, and terminations
    • Process documents through payroll and insurance providers 
    • Ensure all company policies and procedures are followed
    • Provide counsel to the management team and associates, related to application of corporate policies, programs, applicable employment laws, and regulations
    • Coordinate and conduct recruitment efforts, in line with the company’s diversity and recruitment programs and procedures, to attract quality candidates
    • Assist in planning, coordinating, and communicating activities, functions or programs, designed to increase associate engagement such as company events, recognition programs, associate surveys, training programs, etc.
    • Translate policies and procedures from/to English and French
    • Other duties as assigned 


    Skills/Qualifications:
    • Must be bilingual in English and French (spoken & written)
    • 2-5 years of experience in human resources
    • 1-3 years of experience in payroll administration preferred
    • Completion of a relevant post-secondary program in Human Resources Management or equivalent
    • Canadian Human Resources Professional (‘CHRP”) designation is an asset
    • Knowledge of human resource policies, payroll practices, programs, and Canadian legislation
    • Ability to evaluate documents for accuracy and legal conformance
    • Ability to accurately prepare and maintain records, files, and reports
    • Knowledge of HRIS (Workday), payroll and timekeeping systems preferred, but willing to train
    • Ability to analyze, organize and prioritize work while meeting multiple deadlines
    • Degree or certification in Accounting or another related field preferred


    Additional Details:
    • Schedule: 40 hours per week 8:00 to 4:30 pm, flexible start times
    • On-site, temporarily remote due to Covid19
