    Our client is a Canadian organization in the Cannabis industry. They have asked Bryan Forrest of Lock Search Group to assist them in their search for a Director of Production to join their team in Niagara Falls. 

    Overview of Position:

    This position will report to the Vice President of Production. The Director of Production will be responsible for overseeing daily production, tracking and improving production efficiencies, training Production Managers and Associates, and managing production budgets.

    Key Responsibilities:
    • Accountable for all end to end production operations including all processing activities and final product manufacturing activities
    • Enable the QA department to ensure compliance with all regulations as top priority
    • Manage inventory, control supply chain and oversee production scheduling to ensure on-time on-quality delivery
    • Accountable for all SOPs being maintained and followed by the production department
    • Complete P&L responsibility for production activities
    • Provide weekly tracking and production reports to the Vice President of Production
    • Develop and manage continuous process and production improvement processes at the organization
    • Accurately plan production budgets and projects
    • Manage the production team’s performance, including developing and tracking KPIs for each production team member
    • Ensure that production processes are in full alignment with current and upcoming production mandates
    • Develop inventory targets and manage production to achieve targeted inventory levels
    • Monitor actual output versus the Master Production Plan. Identify gaps and drive solutions, including metrics on production performance to the requested production schedule
    • Analyze and calculate costs of production and methods to decrease expenditure

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Science or Engineering
    • Master’s Degree in Project Management, MBA or similar graduate degree preferred
    • 10+ years of experience in a senior production role within the pharmaceutical, nutraceutical or related industry
    • Demonstrated experience in site management role in a GPP/GMP environment
    • Six Sigma Black Belt preferred
    • Excellent inventory, process and project management and leadership skills
    • Solid organizational skills, including attention to detail and multi-tasking
    • Excellent written and oral communication skills with strong interpersonal skills
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
    • Proficiency in using database applications, MS Office software and project management tools
    • Clear communicator capable of speaking professionally, clearly and concisely
    • Self-starter who is proactive in the work they carry out
