    Jackson Stewart from Lock Search Group is presently collaborating with a Non-Profit Organization to identify their next Executive Board Member. This role, situated in British Columbia (specifically Vancouver Island or Greater Vancouver), will be instrumental in shaping and executing a strategic vision. It presents an excellent opportunity for an experienced professional with a background within the Food & Bev industry or lobbying experience.  This will require someone who is well-acquainted with governmental agencies and seeks a part-time or contract position. While certain weeks during peak seasons like spring and fall may necessitate additional effort, weeks during the quieter summer and holiday seasons will require fewer hours. However, on average, the role will require 24 to 30 hours per week over the course of the year. 

    The Executive Board Member will lead efforts to advance the organization's mission and objectives. This key role entails cultivating partnerships with industry stakeholders, provincial government representatives, Provincial Boards, and Licensing bodies, while also connecting with the diverse industry membership to accomplish common goals. Reporting directly to the President and the executive team, this position holds significant responsibility.

    Responsibilities:
    • Conducting meetings efficiently to keep discussions focused and gain consensus from the board on unresolved matters
    • Maintaining ongoing communication with key government officials
    • Utilizing media channels effectively to educate the public and reinforce positions
    • Collaborating with related associations to identify areas of agreement
    • Acting as a keynote speaker at industry events
    • Taking proactive steps to address challenging issues, fostering effective resolutions, and preserving working relationships
    • Regularly updating members through monthly communications and newsletters
    • Formulating action plans in advance to facilitate positive outcomes, understanding the needs and priorities of all parties involved, and striving for mutually acceptable agreements
    • Delivering clear presentations tailored to various audiences, whether one-on-one or in larger groups
    • Crafting and communicating strategies to capitalize on present and future opportunities
    • Considering long-term strategic implications in decision-making beyond immediate operational concerns
    • Enhancing the association's visibility through media exposure and public speaking engagements
    • Identifying and engaging allies with shared interests for mutual industry benefit
    • Being capable of taking independent action and initiating new projects or responding swiftly to industry shifts.
    Qualifications:
    • Strategic thinker capable of innovation and implementation
    • Exceptional presentation and communication skills, both written and verbal
    • Demonstrated negotiation prowess and the ability to achieve consensus within large groups
    • Effective recruitment of new import agents into the organization
    • Maintaining positive member relationships to ensure retention
    • Recruiting and advocating the benefits of membership to associate members 
    • Promoting the value of membership to members and effectively showcasing its benefits to prospective and current members
    • In-depth understanding of the alcoholic beverage industry in Western Canada
    • Comprehensive knowledge of the lobbying process and crafting arguments for government decision-makers
    • Prior experience working in or for regulated industries
    • Proven facilitation skills
    • Proficiency in analyzing data and reporting on trends and their implications
    • Understanding the needs and objectives of import agents
    • Ability to analyze situations and propose or negotiate viable solutions
    • Computer proficiency including Email, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, as well as automated mail systems
