We are seeking a strategic and influential Director of Scientific Innovation and Policy to help advance global partnerships and regulatory alignment within the advanced therapies ecosystem.
JOB SUMMARY
The Director of Scientific Innovation and Policy will lead international collaborations, strategic alliances, and global policy initiatives that support innovation and responsible advancement in cell and gene therapy. This role plays a critical part in strengthening relationships across regulatory bodies, academic institutions, industry partners, and nonprofit organizations, while advising senior leadership on partnership strategy and policy direction.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead the development and execution of a global partnership strategy aligned with organizational priorities.
- Build, manage, and grow strategic relationships with regulatory agencies, research networks, industry consortia, and education and workforce partners.
- Negotiate and manage MOUs, define joint initiatives, and track performance metrics to ensure partnership value and impact.
- Monitor global policy and regulatory developments affecting cell and gene therapy, including regulatory harmonization, ethical oversight, manufacturing standards, and access frameworks.
- Represent the organization in international coalitions, task forces, and public consultations.
- Oversee partnership-driven programs such as regional summits, joint training initiatives, and policy workshops.
- Collaborate closely with internal teams to ensure alignment between external partnerships and strategic objectives.
- Serve as a global ambassador at industry events and provide strategic counsel to executive leadership and the Board.
- Support fundraising and sponsorship efforts by identifying and engaging aligned partners.
REQUIREMENTS
- Advanced degree in life sciences, public policy, global health, or a related field.
- 8–12 years of progressive experience in international partnerships, policy, regulatory affairs, or strategy.
- Strong understanding of the cell and gene therapy ecosystem and global regulatory environments.
- Proven ability to build and sustain cross-sector, international partnerships.
- Experience working with regulatory agencies, translational research networks, or global coalitions is an asset.
- Familiarity with GMP standards, workforce development, and ethical considerations in advanced therapies preferred.
- Exceptional strategic thinking, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Strong project management abilities with attention to detail and follow-through.
- Ability to work effectively across functions within a global, collaborative environment.
COMPENSATION: ~$125-150K (to commensurate with experience)
