Mike DavisRecruitment Consultant | Toronto
Mike received a B.A. from Queen’s University in Economics and Japanese. After graduation he parlayed those language classes into a year teaching English in Japan which was followed immediately by a stint travelling Europe and Asia. Once the travel bug was worked out of his system, Mike began a business career, predominantly in sales and service-oriented roles. This ultimately led Mike to become Vice President, Group Sales Manager for News Marketing Canada – a supplier of in-store and print media products/services.
After 10 years of progressive career growth, Mike decided it was time for a change. He frankly was ready to climb off the corporate ladder and try something completely different…like becoming a recruiter! Mike was prepared for failure but was hoping for, and committed to, success. As it turned out, it couldn’t have been a better move for him at that stage of his career. He can now confidently say that he is doing exactly what he should be doing, where he should be doing it – recruiting, and recruiting at Lock Search Group.
Beyond the ability to enable people to take that next big exciting step in their career, Mike takes enormous pride in helping to develop our Consumer Goods practice area. We now work with a diverse and interesting group of clients from large Tier-one companies to smaller, more entrepreneurial organizations. Along with his business partner, Dave Dureno, and his other colleagues, Mike provides a legendary high level of service and a notable attention to detail while sustaining a strong performance driven ethic and an affable approach.
Outside of work, he is a father and husband who enjoys home renovation projects, playing various bar sports, and supporting his son’s sports activities and his wife’s shopping habits! But his real passion is collecting comic books and original comic book artwork from his childhood. Close friends and family quickly acknowledge him as being a complete geek at heart.
“We all have a guilty pleasure – mine is anything and everything to do with superheroes.”
