Advisory Board Member – Manufacturing & Service Operations

Jay Pinniger, from Lock Search Group has been retained by a growing Energy Manufacturer & Service company to find an experienced Advisory Board Member to provide strategic guidance and operational insight to support the continued growth of our manufacturing and service business. This role will focus on improving manufacturing efficiency, scalability, and performance to enable consistent year-over-year expansion.
The incumbent Advisory Board Member will be a seasoned industrial manufacturing leader with strong expertise in operational excellence, growth strategy, and scaling operations within the Oil & Gas or industrial sectors. They bring a proven ability to balance strategic vision with hands-on execution, helping organizations expand production capacity while maintaining efficiency, quality, and profitability. This individual will focus on driving continuous improvement, supporting scalable growth, enhancing integration between manufacturing and service operations, and strengthening operational discipline, cost control, and margin performance through high-level strategic oversight and practical, results-oriented leadership
This advisory role requires a flexible part-time commitment with weekly advisory board meetings conducted either virtually or in person, along with occasional ad hoc consultations to provide strategic guidance and operational support as needed.
Responsibilities:
- Drive manufacturing efficiency, throughput, and capacity optimization
- Reduce operational downtime, waste, and production variability
- Implement continuous improvement initiatives using Lean, Six Sigma, automation, and digitization
- Support strategic growth, expansion planning, and scalable operational systems
- Evaluate capital investments and operational growth opportunities
- Analyze KPIs, production metrics, and performance trends to improve results
- Develop long-term operational and manufacturing strategies aligned with business goals
- Align manufacturing operations with service delivery and customer requirements
- Strengthen supply chain resilience, cost control, safety, compliance, and risk management
- Provide executive-level advisory support, strategic guidance, and leadership mentoring on operational excellence
Qualifications:
- 15+ years of experience in manufacturing, operations, or industrial leadership roles
- Proven success scaling manufacturing operations and production capacity
- Background in energy, natural gas, oil & gas, or heavy industrial sectors preferred
- Demonstrated ability to improve operational performance and profitability
- Strong expertise in manufacturing systems and process optimization
- Strategic mindset with hands-on operational execution experience
- Solid financial acumen including cost management, ROI, and capital allocation
- Experience aligning manufacturing operations with service-based business models
- Ability to provide constructive leadership, influence executives, and drive accountability
- Excellent communication, analytical, and advisory skills, with board or advisory experience considered an asset
