Our client, a leading Canadian supplier in the industrial sector, has engaged Charles Warren of Lock Search Group to conduct a confidential search for a General Manager- Canada. This critical leadership role will oversee and drive the company’s Canadian operations, spearheading strategic growth, operational excellence, and a high-performance culture.
POSITION OVERVIEW
AsGeneral Manager- Canada, you will lead the region with vision and impact, driving transformative growth, operational excellence, and long-term organizational success. The ideal candidate is a seasoned senior executive with a proven track record of managing complex operations, strengthening stakeholder relationships, and delivering sustainable profitability. This role requires a strategic leader capable of guiding a cross-functional team in a specialized industrial environment while shaping the organization’s future in Canada.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Expand market presence and drive profitability through strategic initiatives and customer-focused solutions.
- Define and execute short- and long-term plans aligned with corporate objectives.
- Build, inspire, and manage high-performing teams, with emphasis on recruitment, development, and performance management.
- Take full accountability for P&L performance, budgeting, forecasting, and responsible allocation of resources.
- Ensure daily operations run efficiently, with an emphasis on process improvement, quality standards, and productivity.
- Strengthen partnerships with clients, dealers, suppliers, and governing bodies to reinforce market positioning.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Extensive experience managing large-scale operations with full P&L accountability (>$20M).
- Strategic thinker with proven ability to deliver top-line growth and margin improvement.
- Strong track record in business development, pipeline management, and consistent achievement of sales targets.
- Experienced people leader with demonstrated success in coaching, mentoring, and building accountable teams.
- Technical foundation, ideally supported by an engineering or industrial background.
- Familiarity with dealer networks and broad understanding of heavy equipment or related product portfolios.
- Skilled in establishing long-term partnerships with key accounts.
- Knowledge of go-to-market models, supply chain/material flow, and customer engagement in specialized industries
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to turn data into actionable insights.
- Adaptable, decisive, and effective in fast-paced environments.
- Specialized exposure to hydraulics is considered advantageous.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and CRM platforms.
- Excellent communication and presentation abilities in English.
