Hydronics Product Sales Manager – Hydronics, Boilers and Pumps

Greater Vancouver, BC

Cameron Lappin of Lock Search Group has partnered with a North American leader within the HVAC, Ventilation and Hydronics sector, to uncover an experienced Hydronics industry specialist, and proven sales professional for their BC RegionThe successful candidate for this position must have a comprehensive understanding of hydronics systems, including Boilers and Pumps, and a previous track record of working in a business development sales capacity within the industry.

Our client is looking for a well versed industry player within the Hydronics field with a track record of success in the commercial sector, as well who is technically proficient and connected with Mechanical Contractors, and Engineering Firms. The primary role of this position is to target, support, and build consultative relationships to promote and sell Hydronics Equipment and Solutions (Boilers, Pumps, Controls), while taking on a primary role, partnering with existing and new OEM Manufacturing Suppliers, supporting the training of internal stakeholders, while working closely with Branch Infrastructure and other department leads across the region.  The role also includes identifying new sales opportunities and specifications, delivering external product training and presentations (‘Lunch & Learns’), managing opportunities and forecasts, and representing the company at industry events and customer meetings.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the development of strategies and tactics for continued growth across BC with Developers, Engineering Firms, Mechanical\HVAC Contractors at all levels of the industry.
  • Identify and maximize opportunities by targeting project opportunities and clients across the BC region.
  • Perform and support product selections for engineers and design/build contractors.
  • Interpret schedules, construction drawings, and specifications with the support of a technical team.
  • Conduct take-offs, support the quotation process and tenders, and issue submittals
  • Self-educate and attend manufacturers' factory/training visits to stay current on the latest product developments and software tools (some travel involved)
  • Stay informed about industry and local codes, regulations, and market trends to ensure compliance and leverage opportunities.
  • Provide timely and accurate service to the contractor community
  • Maintain knowledge of competitors' product offerings.
  • Collaborate with the other divisions on cross-functional sales opportunities
  • Manage the entire sales cycle from initial inquiry to the end of the warranty period.
  • Visit job sites to address on-site challenges.
  • Strategically plan and accompany customers on factory visits

 

Requirements:

  • A minimum of 7+ years’ experience within the Hydronics space
  • A thorough knowledge of Hydronics/Boilers/Pump Systems is a must.
  • Post secondary education (Degree or 2-year diploma) desired, but not required if industry experience is present within the Hydronics/Boilers space.
  • Working Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook & Internet Explorer.
  • Understanding of how to read & interpret drawings.
  • Positive attitude, exemplary attendance, ethical business practices, and a reliable team member.
  • Initiative to prospect for new business with a track-record of success managing a key account book of business within a territory.
  • Ability and successfully history selling a ‘value-proposition’ as well on ‘total cost of ownership’ model
  • Possess the people-skills to build relationships within the industry – networking is important.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Attend valuable and pertinent trade shows
  • Ability to support demand and problem solve in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent time and organizational skills – ability to juggle multiple ‘to do list’ items.
  • Must possess a Valid Driver’s Licence, with the ability to travel into the US, and across Canada
