Jay Pinniger, from Lock Search Group is partnering with a leading National Industrial Distributor that supports, and supplies Canadian industry with extensive product lines, services and industrial solutions coast to coast.
To support strategic growth plans they’re looking for a new member to join their Executive Leadership Team to lead enterprise Finance Groups in multiple business units in Canada. Reporting to the President, the role serves as a key advisor on financial strategy, risk management, and business planning as part of the Executive Leadership Team.

The VP of Finance role is a strategic leadership position responsible for driving profitable growth and financial performance across the Canadian business unit. The VP will lead all aspects of financial planning, governance, reporting, and accounting while developing long-term strategies to support national objectives. This individual will also play a critical role in scaling the business, leveraging data and key metrics to guide decision-making, and leading both organic growth initiatives and M&A activity, while driving operational efficiencies and supporting the creation of a unified, high-performing Canadian entity.
Responsibilities:
- Serve as a strategic finance partner to the President and executive team, guiding business growth and performance
- Monitor financial performance through KPIs, identifying risks and opportunities to drive informed decision-making
- Lead budgeting, forecasting, and long-range planning processes aligned with business objectives
- Drive accountability across leadership teams to achieve financial targets and operational goals
- Identify and execute opportunities for organic growth, margin expansion, and cost efficiencies
- Oversee capital allocation and investment decisions, ensuring disciplined approval processes and ROI focus
- Partner cross-functionally to optimize performance, improve resource allocation, and enhance operational efficiency
- Build and lead a high-performing finance organization, including FP&A, while supporting transformation, systems, and best practices
Qualifications:
- 10+ years of progressive experience in senior FP&A or finance leadership roles, overseeing complex finance functions
- Advanced education such as an MBA or equivalent, complemented by executive leadership training
- Experience in distribution, industrial, or service-oriented businesses with a strong customer-focused mindset preferred
- Proven success operating in multi-site, operationally intensive environments with strong financial oversight and governance
- Strong executive presence with excellent communication and the ability to translate data into clear, compelling narratives
- Demonstrated ability to lead change, modernize finance functions, and implement scalable processes and systems
- Experience leading complex strategic initiatives, including expansions, system implementations, partnerships, and M&A
- Strong people leadership capabilities with a track record of building, developing, and retaining high-performing teams
Compensation & Benefits:
- Competitive base salary of $200K–$250K
