     Our client, a powerhouse in the electrical industrial distribution sector, is seeking a British Columbia, Automation & Control Sales Specialist to join their national team. Cameron Lappin of Lock Search Group has been engaged to find a technical ‘controls & automation’ sales professional with an electrical background to cover the Province of British Columbia. In this strategic role your primary responsibility is to manage, support, and grow revenue and market share, by working closely with both internal sales and branch stakeholders, as well strategically with key supplier/channel partners. 
     
    The Automation & Control Sales Specialist will collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and develop automation solutions utilizing selected automation products, encompassing control system architectures, PLC programming, HMIs, and SCADA systems, while integrating diverse automation components. Install, configure, and maintain Automation software, ensuring seamless integration with existing systems. Identify and resolve technical challenges in automation systems, conduct thorough root cause analyses, and implement corrective actions to optimize performance. Engage with stakeholders to understand automation needs, provide support, and ensure successful project implementation with both internal teams and external partners.     Position Overview:
     
    • Collaborate across diverse teams to grasp business requisites and formulate automation solutions utilizing Automation products. Tasks include devising control system frameworks, programming PLCs, HMIs, and SCADA systems, as well as integrating assorted automation elements.
    • Install, configure, and manage Automation software like FactoryTalk View, Logix Designer, and other pertinent tools. 
    • Ensure smooth integration and operational efficiency of the software within existing systems.
    • Lead Networking experts in addressing networking issues across the Software & Control division and act as a representative for the Networks Team in resolving anomalies and mitigating risks related to network-specific matters with development/test personnel.
    • Remain current and well-versed in the latest networking trends, Industry 4.0 technologies, and best practices in IT/OT.
    • Identify and resolve technical dilemmas linked to automation systems, software, and hardware components. 
    • Perform comprehensive root cause analyses and implement corrective measures to reduce downtime and enhance system performance.
    • Forge close collaborations with internal teams, spanning engineering, operations, and maintenance, to comprehend their automation requisites and furnish technical assistance. 
    • Collaborate with external vendors and contractors to ensure successful execution of automation initiatives.
    • Keep informed about the latest advancements in Automation technologies and information software. 
    • Assess emerging tools and technologies, advocating for their adoption to augment automation capabilities.
    • Produce detailed technical documentation, encompassing system specifications, user guides, and operational protocols.
    • Conduct training sessions to impart knowledge to end-users on the operation and upkeep of automation systems.
     
    Requirements:
     
    • Completion of a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation, or a related discipline.
    • 3-5 years in a Electrical 
    • Proficiency in Network Engineering encompassing the design, implementation, and resolution of network setups.
    • Hands-on experience with Network management software and diagnostic utilities.
    • Previous involvement in Software or Product Development settings.
    • Familiarity with Automation control products.
    • Track record of Technical Leadership within team dynamics.
    • Knowledgeable about industrial communication protocols such as Ethernet/IP, OPC, Modbus, etc.
    • Demonstrated adeptness in problem-solving and troubleshooting.
    • Effective communication and interpersonal abilities.
    • Capability to operate both independently and cooperatively within team environments.
    • Meticulous attention to detail and a dedication to delivering top-tier outcomes.
    • Confident in abilities with CRM, and software platforms
    • Ability to connect in a face-to-face setting with Stakeholders
    • Valid Driver’s license
