  • Job Purpose
    Our client, a prestigious Canadian institution and top-tier school, is currently seeking a dynamic Development Officer to join their expanding team. The incumbent will be responsible for coordinating the organization’s project plan, donor recognition, Graduating Family Gift, and Grad Class initiative projects. The Development Officer will provide event support for development events and coordinate department office supplies.
     
    Key Responsibilities
    Lead the organization’s Annual Campaign project by:
    • Strategically sequencing appeals throughout the fiscal year
    • Facilitating meetings with internal stakeholders
    • Managing meeting logistics and documentation
    • Maintaining the Fund’s critical path
    • Generating distribution lists in Raiser’s Edge
    • Coordinating with the Business Officer to establish annual Appeal Codes
    • Organizing materials for mailings, presentations, and events
    • Monitoring Campaign performance and updating the Advancement Committee
    • Achieving project milestones
    • Collaborating with the Advancement Services Specialist to ensure accurate acknowledgment and processing of Fund gifts
    Other:
    • Identify potential major/leadership gift donors among annual contributors
    • Coordinate comprehensive donor recognition efforts
    • Oversee the annual Graduating Family Gifts and Grad Class initiative projects
    • Integrate Planned Giving appeals into the Annual Campaign each year
    • Provide logistical support for development events
    • Maintain meticulous records within relevant Advancement online systems
    • Manage inventory and procurement of department office supplies
     
    Qualifications
    • Post-secondary education
    • Experience working with Raiser’s Edge is required
    • Solid ability with the Microsoft Office Suite: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
    • Must be able to work efficiently to deadlines
    • Strong attention to detail with project management skills
    • Effective interpersonal and communication skills
    • Excellent networking and relationship-building abilities
    • Exceptional adaptability and flexibility
    • Proven sound judgment and ability to maintain confidential information
    • Service orientation
    • Extroverted, “people-person”
