Our client, a leading food distributor, is looking for a sharp, high-potential individual to join their team as a Regional Sales Manager. The ideal candidate for this role has a proven background in Sales Leadership, demonstrating the ability to effectively communicate a strategic vision and execute plans. They possess an entrepreneurial mindset, showcasing innovative thinking with a high sense of urgency. Committed to maintaining high-quality standards, the candidate excels in time and priority management. With experience in people management and direct reports, they also exhibit excellent interpersonal skills for establishing and maintaining positive business relations with customers.

    The Regional Sales Manager will guide, mentor, and lead an enthusiastic cross-functional Sales Team to surpass predetermined sales targets and uphold customer experience benchmarks within the region. The incumbent is tasked with coaching, training, mentoring, and optimizing team performance to achieve profit objectives while serving as a liaison with other departments that influence sales territory expansion and team effectiveness. This position comes with the flexibility of supporting a hybrid work schedule where a portion of your week can be spent working from a home office.
     
    RESPONSIBILITIES:
     
    • Consistently coach direct reports, fostering their growth as high-performing business partners; promote a deeper understanding of various business facets and effective decision-making strategies.
    • Lead a diverse sales team comprising Sales Consultants, Business Development Managers, and Inside Sales Consultants.
    • Adhere to Food Safety Policy and procedures, ensuring compliance with food safety, quality, and legality requirements.
    • Support and advocate for change initiatives to meet customer needs and boost sales.
    • Drive sales promotions, customer incentives, and initiatives for sales development support.
    • Create an inclusive culture and actively support diversity initiatives.
    • Develop annual sales plans and forecasts, overseeing territory operating expenses.
    • Negotiate new contracts with key local customers to enhance business relationships.
    • Monitor and assess sales results to ensure performance objectives are met.
    • Provide constructive feedback, tools, and resources to empower the team in finding solutions within their respective territories.
    • Achieve annual sales and volume growth targets while effectively managing expenses within the sales area.
    • Ensure the sales force maintains proper credit practices, fostering communication between the sales team and the credit department.
    • Recognize the critical role in creating a safe organization with minimal environmental impact and the value it brings.
     
    REQUIREMENTS:
     
    • Successful completion of post-secondary education.
    • Over 5 years of experience leading B2B sales teams in a professional sales environment, preferably in CPG, Food & Beverage.
    • Proven track record in Sales and Business Development.
    • Capacity to lead a team of high-performing sales associates, ensuring timely delivery and high-quality results with precision and thoroughness in their deliverables.
    • Robust financial and business acumen, with the ability to meticulously plan and execute business strategies.
    • Autonomous work capability.
    • Demonstrated proficiency in consultative selling, networking, and negotiations.
    • Excellent interpersonal skills for establishing and maintaining positive business relationships with customers.
    • Outstanding organizational and project management abilities, managing multiple initiatives concurrently.
    • Adaptability to learn and utilize proprietary CRM tools for planning and forecasting sales growth.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including expertise in analyzing reports and extracting insights from data.
    • Proactive embracement of change and advocacy for corporate initiatives.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Applications Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
    • Holds a valid BC driver’s license.
