Our client is seeking a highly dependable and personable professional to join their team as either a Senior Commercial Account Manager or an Account Executive, based on their level of experience. These roles reside in our client’s fast-paced commercial lines department. These exciting opportunities are permanent, full-time positions.
Our client’s head office is located in Halifax and this is a hybrid role, with some flexibility to work from home during the week.
Senior Commercial Account Manager Roles and Responsibilities:
- Contact clients via email or mail
- Submit accounts and new business leads
- Interact with underwriters to confirm additional info required in order to quote
- Support Producer in negotiating renewals with underwriters
- Assist Producer with presenting, reviewing, and discussing new business proposals to client
- Prepare proposals for prospects to market account, including marketing report outlining results
- Prepare renewal proposals based on renewal quote from incumbent
- Update/Maintain “Policy Schedule” as changes are made throughout term
- Review all policy documents received for accuracy
- Handle day to day requests from clients (additions, deletions, substitutions)
- Prepare covering letters with renewals and new business
- Manage client TAM screen
- Certificates of insurance
- Surety bonding
- Confirmation of coverage issuance
- Invoice transactions

ADDITIONAL Roles and Responsibilities for Account Executive Position:
- Managing a book of clients with minimal oversight – No Sales Expectations; only servicing existing book of clients
- Typically working on larger more complex files
- Responsible for presenting and negotiating renewals
- Taking ownership of difficult client discussions
- Review and commenting on job contracts
- Upselling different lines of business to existing clients (Cyber insurance, D&O insurance, etc.)

Education/Experience Requirements:
- Minimum 5 years industry experience
- Minimum 3 years commercial insurance broker experience
- Strong working knowledge of Adobe, Microsoft Word & Excel and Outlook is required
- Insurance-related education and/or professional designations are considered very important assets (and other post-secondary education is viewed as a benefit but not a requirement)
