    Our client is a leading innovator in the basement finishing industry.  They are currently seeking a high performing/systems savvy Accounting Manager, who will track and evaluate day-to-day activities, becoming a valuable subject matter expert to the team. 


    Key Responsibilities:

    • Manage day-to-day accounting operations including;
      • financial statement preparation, AP/AR functions, preparation of journal entries, account analysis, balance sheet reconciliations, purchasing and expense review, assist & support fixed assets maintenance, variance analysis, month/quarter-end reporting end
    • Maintain sub ledger & BI report
    • Support; payroll, utilities, treasury, budgeting, cash forecasting
    • Improve systems and procedures and initiate corrective actions
    • Establish and enforce proper accounting methods, policies and principles
    • Coordinate and complete annual audits
    • Provide recommendations to leadership and coaching to peers
    • Oversee operations and development plans of the accounting team
    • Assign projects and direct staff to ensure compliance and accuracy
    • Support the development, implementation and ongoing maintenance of ERP system
    • Establish and maintain fiscal files and records to document transactions
    • Meet financial accounting objectives
    • Support/step in and work through any financial task within the department
    • Other duties as assigned 

    Qualifications:

    • High level of integrity, passion, and teamwork 
    • Accounting designation in Canada
    • 5 years of proven working experience as an Accounting Manager, Accounting Supervisor or Finance Manager
    • Advanced computer skills in MS Office, accounting software (preferably Power BI) and databases
    • People management experience
    • Ability to manipulate large amounts of data
    • Proven knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting principles, practices, standards, laws and regulations
    • High attention to detail and accuracy
    • Ability to direct and supervise a team
    • Experience working for a manufacturing company preferred
    • Solutions-focused problem solving
    • Experience with foreign exchange rates preferred
    • Strong communication skills; both written and verbal
