Our recruitment firm is working with an exciting global top brand and they’re seeking a Human Resources Manager to join their team. This role offers the opportunity to partner closely with leadership while helping shape the employee experience across multiple Canadian business units. As a key member of the HR team, you will drive initiatives across talent acquisition, employee relations, performance management, and organizational development, while ensuring HR practices align with evolving legislation and business objectives.

The Opportunity:

As Human Resources Manager you will act as a trusted advisor to leaders and employees, helping foster a high-performing, engaged workforce. You will help develop and implement HR programs and policies while ensuring compliance with employment legislation and alignment with corporate strategy.

This is a highly visible role that requires strong collaboration across leadership teams and HR partners across Canada. Our client is offering hybrid flexibility with 2-days a week in-office.

Key Responsibilities:

HR Business Partnership

  • Provide expert guidance to leadership on employee relations, workforce management, and HR best practices
  • Support leaders in resolving employee concerns and workplace matters while maintaining a positive and engaged culture
  • Assess and mitigate risks related to employment matters and ensure compliance with applicable legislation

Talent Acquisition Oversight

  • Lead recruitment strategies and oversee the full talent acquisition lifecycle
  • Coach hiring managers and Talent Acquisition lead on equitable, consistent hiring practices
  • Review sourcing strategies, assessment tools, and best practices to attract and retain top talent

Policy Development & HR Programs

  • Partner with HR leadership to develop, interpret, and maintain HR policies and procedures
  • Monitor legislative changes and emerging HR trends, ensuring policies remain compliant and competitive
  • Contribute to the development and execution of HR strategic initiatives
  • Supports the development and execution of the organization’s learning and development strategy, including the design, delivery and evaluation of training programs

Performance & Leadership Development

  • Manage the annual and semi-annual performance review cycles
  • Support managers in addressing performance challenges and building effective development plans
  • Provide guidance on leadership development, succession planning, and change management

Organizational Change & Workforce Planning

  • Support restructuring initiatives, workforce planning, and organizational transitions
  • Work with leadership and legal partners to manage restructuring processes and employee transitions
  • Provide coaching and support to leaders during periods of change

Employee Engagement & Onboarding

  • Oversee onboarding and orientation programs to ensure a strong employee experience from day one.
  • Support employee engagement initiatives including surveys, feedback sessions, and action planning.
  • Develop toolkits and resources that empower leaders to build strong, inclusive teams

HR Operations & Team Leadership

  • Provide leadership and mentorship to HR team members to ensure consistent service delivery
  • Manage HR projects and initiatives aligned with organizational priorities
  • Contribute to the development of HR tools, training programs, and leadership resources

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field
  • CHRP/CHRL designation preferred
  • 7+ years of progressive Human Resources experience
  • Experience across core HR functions including employee relations, talent acquisition, performance management, compensation, and learning & development
  • Prior team management experience is considered an asset
  • Strong knowledge of Ontario employment legislation, including:
    • Employment Standards Act
    • Human Rights Code
    • Occupational Health & Safety legislation
  • Strong communication, relationship-building, and conflict resolution skills
  • Experience with HRIS platforms such as Workday or similar systems
  • Familiarity with Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS) and Learning Management Systems (LMS) is an asset
  • High level of discretion when handling confidential information
