Marketing Director

About the role
Our client, an international and fast-growing pharmaceutical company, is looking for a Marketing Director. You will be a key member of the Canadian leadership team, responsible for shaping and executing the brand strategy for our portfolio.
As a founding member of the Canadian leadership team, you will be responsible for building the marketing function from the ground up, shaping how we engage healthcare professionals (HCPs), patients, and other key stakeholders.
This is a hands-on, entrepreneurial role: you will develop the Canadian marketing strategy, lead product launches, collaborate cross-functionally with sales, medical, and market access, and ensure alignment with global teams.
What you'll do
Strategic Brand Leadership
- Develop and execute integrated brand plans for the Canadian market, ensuring alignment with global strategies and local business objectives.
- Lead the launch strategy and lifecycle management for our products.
- Identify market opportunities, generate actionable insights through research and advisory boards, and integrate findings into marketing strategies.
- Develop multi-channel marketing strategies, including digital, in-person, and omnichannel approaches.
Cross-functional & Global Collaboration
- Partner with Sales, Medical Affairs, and Market Access to ensure a coordinated go-to-market approach and consistent messaging across all channels.
- Work closely with global marketing teams to adapt global strategies to local market needs and share Canadian insights.
- Support patient and HCP engagement programs in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
Execution & Performance Management
- Oversee the development of promotional materials, campaigns, and digital initiatives in compliance with PAAB and industry standards.
- Manage external agencies and vendors to deliver high-quality, on-brand marketing initiatives within budget and timelines.
- Define KPIs, track performance metrics, and provide regular reporting on campaign effectiveness and ROI.
- Ensure seamless pre-launch to post-launch execution, including congress participation, speaker programs, and field force tools.
Leadership & Team Development
- Build and lead a high-performing marketing team from scatch, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and innovation.
- Provide coaching and mentorship to ensure team members grow in their roles and contribute to business success.
What we're looking for
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, or Life Sciences (MBA an asset).
- 10+ years of progressive pharmaceutical marketing experience, with 3+ years at a senior or director level.
- Proven track record in specialty care launches.
- Experience working in a start-up or affiliate-building environment is an asset.

Languages
- English fluency required; French is an asset.
