Role: Software Team Lead
Location: Guelph, Ontario (preferred) or Remote within Canada
Our Client is a fast-growing climate tech startup focused on improving climate resiliency in the built environment. Their B2B SaaS platform enables commercial real estate owners and operators to quantify climate risk in financial terms, prioritize mitigation strategies, and future-proof their assets.
With strong early traction and an expanding client base, Our Client is looking for a Software Team Lead to guide their development team and support global growth. The team operates primarily in the Eastern Time Zone, with a headquarters in Guelph, Ontario. Remote candidates across Canada are welcome.
Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor a team of software developers in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
- Drive the development and delivery of key product features as the platform scales
- Collaborate with stakeholders to prioritize development efforts and align on product needs
- Translate customer and business requirements into effective technical solutions
- Ensure clear and transparent communication between leadership and the development team
- Support best practices in software development while balancing speed, quality, and learning
Profile Sought
- 5–7 years of professional software development experience
- Previous experience leading or mentoring software development teams
- Strong communication skills and a team-first leadership approach
- Hands-on experience with Python, JavaScript, Vue.js, PostgreSQL, Docker, and Azure
- Experience working in a startup or small, agile environment
- Comfortable with rapid change, experimentation, and iterative development
- Customer-focused mindset with an interest in mission-driven products
- Background or strong interest in science, engineering, or climate-related domains is an asset
