Sales Manager – CDN CPG Food Company (U.S. market focus) - MOSTLY WORK-FROM-HOME ROLE

Salary Range: $90,000-$120,000 + bonus potential (note that there is no car compensation as this is a U.S. market-focused role)

Before you apply...please note: Traditional consumer packaged goods account sales experience (ideally within food/beverage) is absolutely mandatory for this role. In order to be considered for this opportunity, you will need to have current/very recent account sales experience at either an Assistant Account/Sales Manager or Account/Sales Manager level within a traditional consumer packaged goods manufacturer (again, ideally within food/beverage). We appreciate your interest, however, only those candidates that fit this qualification will be considered.
This a predominantly REMOTE work-from-home role will require the successful candidate to be based in Ontario. There will be occasions where the successful candidate will have to attend team/customer meetings at an office based in the Greater Toronto Area, however, this will not be frequent.
NOTE: this role will require travel to the U.S. one week per month or 25% of the time.
A growing North American consumer packaged goods organization is seeking a sales leader to support the continued expansion of its branded food portfolio across the US grocery channel. Reporting into senior sales leadership located within Canada, this position is responsible for driving revenue growth, expanding distribution, managing broker relationships, and strengthening customer partnerships across key retail accounts.
The role works cross-functionally with marketing and commercial teams to optimize assortment strategy, improve shelf presence, support promotional planning, and execute annual business objectives. Responsibilities include managing broker performance, developing customer growth strategies, overseeing trade spend effectiveness, tracking account performance metrics, and identifying opportunities to increase volume and profitability within existing and new business channels.
Qualified candidates will possess a post-secondary degree along with approximately 3-7 years of progressive sales experience within the consumer packaged goods sector, including some direct exposure to the US retail market. Experience managing customer relationships, leading account growth initiatives, and working within a broker-driven sales environment is strongly preferred.
The ideal candidate is a commercially driven sales professional with a proven ability to grow business with major retail customers and deliver consistent results within a consumer packaged goods environment. This individual brings strong analytical and forecasting capabilities, combines strategic thinking with fact-based selling skills, and is highly effective in negotiation, presentation, and relationship management settings.
Candidates should demonstrate leadership experience, including the ability to guide and influence both internal stakeholders and external partners. A hands-on, growth-oriented mindset is important, along with a strong sense of accountability, continuous improvement, and commitment to achieving business objectives in a fast-paced environment.
This position requires flexibility for regular travel throughout the US and internationally as needed.
